I believe that when you are more personally responsible for your life and for your own mindset, and when you step up – life flourishes.
Something new grows within you.
So, what do you have to take responsibility for?
1) Where you’re headed in life?
Sure you’ll be influenced by others, but if you’re over the age of 15 and you haven’t set your own life agenda – there’s a problem. Our brain is hard-wired to be future oriented. You’ll spend more time thinking about your future than anyone else, so if you hand over complete responsibility for this, you’re doing yourself a disservice. You’re giving power away to others who haven’t put as much thought into your situation as you have.
Be influenced….But don’t follow someone else’s views about where you should be headed in life without questioning whether it’s right for you.
2) What you’re thinking about?
What you’re paying attention to is your decision. Most people are being depleted by the sweeping distractions that they’re subjected to. Choose to get selfish about your goals. Drag your mind back to the positive when it strays. It’s within your power to do so.
3) Your attitude
You can choose the way you think about life. If you’re not overcome with emotion sometimes, it means you’re not paying attention. You’re not paying attention to the world that surrounds you.
Sure, things go wrong. Life seems hard sometimes.
But if you’re stuck in a black place for too long, either choose to claw your way out, or seek professional help to help you fly out.
Step up…Step out of that hole….Get in the game!
